Nguyen Ngoc Tuan elected Chairman of Hanoi City People's Council (Source: baodautu.vn)

On December 9, at the closing session of the Hanoi City People's Council, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan was elected as Chairman of the City People's Council, term 2021-2025. 

The City People's Council has elected an additional five Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term. With the overwhelming majority of votes in favor, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong, Director of the City Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Chu Xuan Dung, Director of the City Department of Education and Training; Ha Minh Hai, Secretary of the Dong Da District Party Committee; Nguyen Manh Quyen, Director of the City Department of Planning and Investment; and Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Secretary of Hoan Kiem District Party Committee and Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People's Council, were elected as Vice Chairmen of Hanoi City People's Committee.

Previously, the City People's Council released Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc from the position of Chairwoman of the City People's Council for the term 2016-2021 and released from their positions as Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee, term 2016-2021, Mr. Nguyen Van Suu, Nguyen Quoc Hung, Nguyen The Hung, Ngo Van Quy and Nguyen Doan Toan.

The 18th session of the Hanoi City People's Council took place over three days to decide the socio-economic development plan for 2021 with 22 groups of major targets, 11 specific tasks and solutions. 16 resolutions were approved with a strong consensus./.
