At the session, delegates of the Bac Lieu People’s Council agreed to release members of the provincial People’s Committee (term 2016-2021) from their positions, including: Tran Thanh Tam, former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Ho Huu Luong, former Chief Inspector; Tran Hoang Duyen, former Head of the Commission of Ethnic Religions; and Tran Hong Chien, former Director of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs. 

The Bac Lieu People’s Council also released Mr. Duong Thanh Trung from Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (term 2016-2021) due to retirement. At the same time, Le Minh Chien and Lam Thi Sang were released as Deputy Chairmen due to retirement and transfer to another task, respectively. 

At the session, the Bac Lieu People’s Council elected Cao Xuan Thu Van, Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council, as Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee; while Phan Thanh Duy, Secretary of the Hong Dan district Party Committee, was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Bac Lieu People’s Committee. 

The Bac Lieu People’s Council also elected 5 comrades as members of the provincial People’s Committee, including: Bui Thanh Nguyen, Chief Inspector of Bac Lieu; Tran Thi Lan Phuong, Director of the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism; Huynh Quoc Ca, Director of the Department of Construction and Nguyen Huy Dung, Director of the Department of Transport. 

Mr. Pham Van Thieu was born on April 24, 1970, in Vinh Thanh commune, Phuoc Long district, Bac Lieu province. He has advanced level qualification in political theory, Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Philosophy and Master of Economic Management./.
