According to the minister, there are 4 important resources for boosting the region’s rapid and sustainable development. Firstly, the Ministry of Transport will develop national highways, especially the expressways from Ca Mau to Bac Lieu and from Bac Lieu to Can Tho. "We agreed with the Ministry of Transport to complete them from now to 2025," Minister Dung said.
The second is local resources, which are taken from central support and local budget to develop infrastructure projects.
The third resource is from the central level. The Prime Minister has agreed to increase by USD2 billion investment in the Mekong River Delta in the coming period. Particularly from 2021-2025 alone, the Government will build a donor support project through the budget worth about USD1.05 billion to build the entire coastal road network in the region, some lakes and some important traffic works for some provinces that do not have coastal roads.
Moreover, the central level will also give support to key interregional projects.
The fourth resource mentioned by Minister Nguyen Chi Dung is social capital through public-private partnerships.
"We will mobilise a lot of resources to be able to carry out infrastructure system construction for the Mekong River Delta, creating conditions for them to boost rapid and sustainable development in the coming time," Minister Dung affirmed./.
