GSO data show that the processing and manufacturing industry saw a high increase in October partly due to the prosperity of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, with an increase 25.4% compared to the same period last year.

According to the office, the industrial production index saw improvement this month.

Specifically, mining production decreased sharply by 14.5%, processing and manufacturing rose by 8.3%, electricity production and distribution rose by 1%, and management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 9.9% year on year.

However, in the first 10 months of 2020, the IIP rose 2.7 percent over the same period last year, much lower than the 9.5 percent increase in the same period in 2019./.
