The information has been released by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) .

It is said that Vietnam is honored to be voted as “Asia's Top Heritage Destination,” “Asia's Top Cultural Destination” and "Asia's Top Food Destination."

This is the result of the Asian regional vote, announced by the World Travel Awards. 2020 is also the second consecutive year that Vietnam has been voted in all 3 categories.

Once again, culture, heritage, and cuisine are outstanding factors that bring prestigious international awards to Vietnamese tourism.

Over the past years, cultural tourism has always been one of the most attractive forms, bringing a large number of domestic and international tourists, contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism industry.

Currently, the General Department of Tourism is building a project "Building national brands on cultural tourism", in the plan of the culture, sports and tourism sectors to implement Decision 1755/QD-TTg on September 8, 2016 of the Prime Minister approving the Strategy for the development of cultural industries to 2020, with a vision to 2030.

The project was developed by the Tourism Market Department (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism) on the basis of theories and international experience in building and developing national brands, focusing on 2 strong areas of the country, cuisine and heritage, thereby forming a system of typical destinations, tourist products with high quality, high value and favored by the market.

The project also outlines the current status of cultural tourism development in Vietnam; offers the core values of the brand for Vietnamese cultural tourism; orientation, goals and content of developing national brands for cultural tourism in Vietnam; and offers organizing guidelines on project implementation./.
