(13th Congress) - On March 1, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh city organized a conference to instruct agencies, organizations and units to introduce nominated candidates to the 15th National Assembly and the 10th city People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term.

At the event, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee provided information about the process of organizing voters conferences at the workplace to introduce nominated candidates to the 15th National Assembly and the 10th city People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term and guided the preparation steps for the nomination of candidates to ensure proper implementation of the consultation process; ensuring standards and composition of the recommended persons.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh city Department of Home Affairs, introduced the regulations about candidacy dossiers, voter card samples, ballot papers, voting booth rules, and regulations related to the election, and solved problems in the process of implementing the profiles of the nominees.
Ms. To Thi Bich Chau, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh city, acknowledged the opinions of the delegates. She suggested that agencies and units should follow the instructions of the city Election Commission, closely coordinating with the functional units to complete the process of introducing nominated candidates in accordance with the prescribed time, process and regulations of the law.
Ms. Chau emphasized that the nomination of candidates makes an important contribution to ensuring that the second Consultation will be truly democratic in accordance with the law and on schedule.
As scheduled, from now to before March 10, 2021, agencies, organizations and units will hold conferences to collect opinions of voters at the workplace of the nominated candidates and send the minutes of the conferences to the Standing Committee of the city Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
In the upcoming election, voters in the southern hub will elect 30 deputies to the 15th National Assembly (including 15 introduced by the Party Central Committee) and 95 deputies to the City People’s Council for the 2021-2026 term./.
