That is one of the contents emphasized by Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi and Chairwoman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) Nguyen Lan Huong in a recent event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of HAUFO (November 17, 1950).
In her speech at the event, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong reviewed outstanding results in people-to-people diplomacy during the past 70 years, while affirming that over the past years, people-to-people diplomacy always received the leadership and guidance of the Party and the State.
In addition, the coordination with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Central Friendship Associations, embassies and international organizations in Hanoi contributed to spreading the image of the thousand-year cultural capital, City for Peace and safe and friendly destination to international friends.
At the event, Head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Commission of Mass Mobilization, Deputy Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan, hailed the operations of HAUFO over the past time while asking the organization to continue to associate and focus on studying and carrying out people-to-people diplomacy in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Party Congress, and Resolution of the 6th Congress of VUFO.
On this occasion, the union awarded 19 teams and 29 individuals with outstanding achievements in people-to-people diplomacy in the 2015-2020 period./.
