Accordingly, vocational training courses have been organized in all communes in the province, even in extremely disadvantaged villages, creating favourable conditions for trainees. They have been provided training in areas suitable for local production and businesses’ demand. After the training, over 80% of the trainees have gotten jobs with higher productivity and income.

From 2010 to 2020, by carrying out socio-economic development programs and projects, vocational training activities in educational foundations and businesses, the province gave vocational training to nearly 177,000 labourers, including nearly 139,000 rural labourers. Of which over 87% of rural labourers got jobs after being trained.

Vocational training has made an important contribution to creating jobs for over 18,000 workers per year, reducing the poverty rate from 32.21% in 2015 to 7.05%. The improved quality of human resources has made an important contribution to improving working productivity, creating jobs, reducing poverty, contributing to socio-economic development, economic restructuring, and transitioning the labour structure in the province towards efficiency and sustainability.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, Yen Bai province aims to support vocational training at elementary level and under 3 months of training for about 20,000 rural workers, including 12,000 ethnic minorities, 1,000 people with disabilities, 4,000 members in poor or nearly poor households, and 2,000 revolutionary contributors.

According to the training structure, vocational training in the agricultural sector accounts for about 6,000-8,000 people, or 30-40%; and vocational training in the non-agricultural sector accounts for about 12,000-14,000 people, or 60-70%.

To achieve the target, the province continues to implement the policy of supporting vocational training for rural workers, giving priority to those in ethnic minority areas, workers from poor and nearly poor households, revolutionary contributors and those whose cultivated land is revoked for other purposes./.
