The National Assembly is scheduled to dismiss two Government ministers from their posts at its ongoing year-end session in Hanoi on November 11, Radio the Voice of Vietnam reported.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered a report in the morning proposing the dismissal of Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh and State Bank Governor Le Minh Hung from their posts after they were assigned new tasks.
National Assembly deputies then discussed the proposal and are due to vote on it in the afternoon of the same day.
Chu Ngoc Anh, born in Hanoi in 1965, is Minister of Science and Technology. He was appointed Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee by the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He was then elected Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
Currently he is member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
Huynh Thanh Dat, who is incumbent Director of the Ho Chi Minh City National University, is likely to succeed Chu Ngoc Anh as Minister of Science and Technology.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will present a report to the National Assembly on November 12 proposing the appointment of Huynh Thanh Dat to the new post.
Similarly, Le Minh Hung, State Bank Governor, was appointed Head of the Party Central Committee’s Office by the Politburo.
Deputy Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Thi Hong is expected to succeed Le Minh Hung./.
