(13th Congress) – On November 22, a ceremony was held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Ho Chi Minh city to honour outstanding Lao and Cambodian students who gained excellent academic results and actively joined movement activities.

The activity aimed to encourage other students to follow the outstanding examples.
This year, 129 candidates from 17 universities and institutes across the city joined the selection before the selection council agreed to honour 94 Lao students and 28 Cambodian students, including one gaining the title for 6 successive years, 9 gaining the title for 5 successive years, 8 gaining the title for 4 successive years, 11 gaining the title for 3 successive years, and 27 gaining the title for 2 successive years.
According to Ong Thi Ngoc Linh, Head of the Youth Board at school under the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Director of the dormitory of Lao students, the city’s Communist Youth Union is managing 309 among nearly 1,000 Lao and Cambodian students studying at 25 universities and institutes. “In the 2019-2020 school-year, Lao and Cambodian students have actively joined extracurricular activities, visited historic relics in the city, and participated in exchanges of Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian students.
After 14 years of organization, the program has honoured 901 outstanding Lao and Cambodian students from universities and universities across the city. Not only are they reporting good academic results, they have been reported to be the ones who help foster the sustainable development of the friendly relationship between Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia./.
