Country has 29,300 newly-established enterprises in first quarter

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), Vietnam had 29,300 newly-established enterprises with total registered capital of 447.8 trillion VND (19.37 billion USD) in the first quarter of this year.

These figures represented a 1.45% decrease in the number of newly registered enterprises, but a 27.5% increase in the registered capital year on year. The higher capital was due to an increase of 36.8% in the number of enterprises with registered capital at over 100 billion VND.

Average registered capital of each newly-established enterprise during the period reached 15.3 billion VND, a year-on-year rise of 29.2%.

If including 525.3 trillion VND of increased capital of 9,600 ongoing enterprises, the total registered capital added to the economy in the three months was 973.1 trillion VND.

As many as 14,700 enterprises resumed operation in the three months, a year-on-year reduction of 0.5%.

During the period, 40,300 enterprises stopped business, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%. Of which, 23,800 were closed temporarily, up 28.2%, and 5,200 have permanently ceased to do business, a surge of 26.4%, while 11,300 others are completing dissolution procedures./.
