This information was confirmed by leaders of the Department of Tourism and the Department of Information and Communications of Hanoi at a ceremony signing a coordination programme on improving the effectiveness of information and communications and promoting IT application in tourism activities in the capital city for 2021.
The two departments will work with network providers to realize the program.
In addition, they will also join hands to improve the efficiency of information and promotion for tourism activities and events in the capital, renew ways and content, increase the application of modern technologies in information and communication work on tourism, and carry out digital transformation in the tourism industry.
The capital’s tourism has shown signs of recovery. Since reopening earlier this month, local destinations such as Huong Pagoda, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature), Ngoc Son Temple, and Duong Lam Ancient Village welcomed a large number of tourists, especially on the weekends.
Hanoi greeted 8.65 million tourist arrivals in 2020, equivalent to 30% of the 2019 figure, including 1.11 million foreigners./.
