The Olympiad will be held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee in coordination with the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Olympiad aims to strengthen the education of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought, thereby raising political awareness, fostering revolutionary ideals for union members and students, as well as creating a playground for union members and students to exchange and exchange experiences in understanding and studying Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Thought; applying Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought to study, life and self-training.

The Olympiad is a concrete and practical activity of the youth in the implementation of Directive 42-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in the education of revolutionary ideals, morality, cultural lifestyle for the young generation, in the 2015 – 2030 period". It is part of a series of activities to review the 5-year implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW of the 12th Politburo on "Promoting      studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style", the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's return to Vietnam to directly lead the Vietnamese revolution (January 28, 1941 - January 28, 2021), the 131st anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2021) and 110 years of Uncle Ho's departure to find a way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2021).

The Olympiad will take place from May 16 to July 10 and is divided into two groups: individual and team boards, with a combination of online contest and theatrical competition.

At the individual board, all Vietnamese students at home and abroad can register for the event and participate in the online contest via     the Vietnam Youth app./.
