(13th Congress) - Bac Giang is the first locality to complete the Provincial Planning Report for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, helping the locality to realize its ambitious goals.

The planning was assessed on March 22, making it the first nationwide to have been assessed.
According to Mr. Duong Van Thai, Secretary of Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, with impressive, comprehensive and outstanding results in development over recent years, Bac Giang Province still has considerable development space for the next period.
Bac Giang has an area of 3,895 km2, ranking 35th in the country, with a human resource pool of 1.9 million people, ranking 12th nationwide. In recent years, Bac Giang has thrived in the fields of industry and urban services. Many large domestic and foreign investors have come to survey and make large-scale investments in Bac Giang, leading to the strong development of urban areas and services.
To create breakthrough development in the coming time, the province's orientation is to develop quickly, sustainably and synchronously in all fields, in which the focus is on industry - urban - service, striving to make the province a modern-oriented industrial province by 2030.
Expressing impressions of the socio-economic development results of Bac Giang Province in the past period, especially its GRDP growth rate of 13% in 2020, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung acknowledged that over the past years, Bac Giang has strongly shifted its economic structure to industry.
In its planning, the province gives general analysis of the unique and specific conditions; and analyzes and evaluates in detail the current socio-economic status, infrastructure conditions, potential resources and other resources of the province, thereby giving an analysis of weaknesses, strengths, opportunities, and challenges to evaluate the past 10 years of development and draw lessons for the next period.
Therefore, Bac Giang Province has given the viewpoint of selecting development plans, targets and orientations based on regional organizational analysis for the period 2021 - 2030 and vision to 2050; building plans for development of urban and rural systems, technical infrastructure systems, social infrastructure, and environmental infrastructure; and proposing solutions for implementing planning based on the analysis of resources that can be used./.
