(13th Congress) - The 16th Cao Bang People’s Council (term 2016-2021) basically fully implemented programs, contents, and operation plans set out from the beginning of the term, said Mr. Nong Thanh Tung, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, in a recent conference.

In the 2016-2021 term, teams of delegates of the Cao Bang People’s Council held 270 meetings with 18,000 voters.
The Cao Bang People’s Council organized 10 regular meetings, 5 extraordinary and thematic meetings, and 1 review meeting; issued 213 resolutions; and took votes of confidence for 26 people holding positions elected by the provincial People’s Committee.
Standing members of the Cao Bang People’s Committee organized 56 regular sessions, considered and decided 72 contents submitted by the provincial People’s Committee; organized 1 questioning session with 6 contents, 6 explanation sessions with 13 contents; carried out 7 observations and 4 surveys; resolved 96 issues from complaints, denunciation and petitions of citizens; and received 497 citizen arrivals.
In the remainder of the term, the 16th Cao Bang People’s Council associated with levels and branches to successfully organize the election of the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council deputies for the 2021-2026 term, and prepare and well organize the first session, regular and thematic session of the People’s Council in the 2021-2026 term.
At the event, Mr. Nong Thanh Tung asked the Cao Bang People’s Council to direct and well coordinate with localities to successfully organize the election of the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council deputies in the 2021-2026 term; ensuring that the election will take place democratically, equally, lawfully and safely./.
