Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh made the statement while attending the fifth Patriotic Emulation Congress and the ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the agriculture and rural development sector in Hanoi on November 14.

The agricultural sector should attach importance to detecting, fostering and replicating advanced examples to spread in the industry as well as in the whole society, she added. 

The Vice President also hailed the achievements in the patriotic emulation movement which the sector has gained over the past five years.

She also noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has advised the Party and State to promulgate and effectively implement many important policies and programs, creating a legal corridor to remove difficulties for agricultural development.

The Vice President asked the agriculture and rural development sector to further implement the development orientations and strategies in the coming period, as well as enhance scientific and technical advances in agro-forestry-fishery production and processing.

The relevant agencies should also focus on expanding both domestic and export markets, while accelerating the building of new-style rural areas, contributing to improving both the spiritual and material life of rural people, she added.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented first-class, second-class and third-class Orders to three individuals who gained outstanding achievements over recent years.
