The request was made by Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education.

He noted that Cao Bang needed to strongly exploit the advantages of tourism development, gradually making tourism a key economic sector; attach importance to investment in synchronous infrastructure and tourist spots; and promote the value of historical relics and famous sceneries, and unique and distinct cultural values.

He also urged the province to build a clean and strong Party; improve the Party leadership and combativeness; continue to heighten the role of cadres and Party members; and focus on development of Party members in remote, isolated and ethnic minority-inhabited areas. “It is necessary to foster ethnic minority qualified cadres to satisfy the province’s demand for development,” he said.

According to the Politburo member, to facilitate the province’s breakthrough, rapid and sustainable development, it should propose central agencies to continue to care for studying and issuing policies in support of resources, tackling difficulties and boosting development.

The political report presented at the congress showed that in the 2015-2020 period, the province realized all of 17 development targets, with improvement in business environment, increase of 11% per year in budget collection, good investment in infrastructure, rapid reduction of poverty rate, ensured social welfare, and remarkable progress in people’s material and spiritual lives./.
