(13th Congress) – Before April 13, Ho Chi Minh city is focusing on collecting comments of voters on candidates nominated as deputies of the 15th NA and People’s Council (term 2021-2026) live, according to the city Election Committee.

Currently, some candidates receive comments and confidence from voters.
According to regulations, if a candidate does not gain more than 50% confidence from voters, he or she will not be included in the list introduced to the third consultative conference.
Earlier, Ho Chi Minh City completed the second consultative conference to agree on the preliminary list of candidates for the election of the 15th NA and People’s Council at all levels.
As planned, the southern city will collect voters’ comments on 50 candidates for the 15th NA and 170 candidates for the city People’s Council. Localities will also collect comments of voters on candidates running for deputies of People’s Councils of Thu Duc city, 5 districts, communes and towns.
Among the candidates running for deputies of the 15th NA, there are 15 deputies of the 14th NA who were re-nominated. Head and deputy Head of the city NA delegation were also re-nominated. They are Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, former Politburo member and former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, and Ms. Van Thi Mai Tuyet.
Among them, 1 self-nominated candidate is Lawyer Truong Trong Nghia, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city Lawyers delegation./.
